Our Story  




“If the thing you want doesn’t exist, create it,” is the phrase that lies at the roots of People’s Fitness Club. After living in Argentina and staying in other European countries, I found that it wasn’t unusual for gyms there to feel very different to the clinical nature of clubs here. But there was a much wider issue here - from budget gyms to high end clubs, the market here was so dominated by chains that anyone wanting to reject big corporations and support small businesses would struggle when it came to gym membership. Thus, with some serious hard work, major determination and a few strokes of luck, People’s Fitness Club was born in Northampton. Here’s the things we feel makes us different: 

📣Taking the bright quirky nature of the aforementioned  Argentinian clubs as our cue, our colourful interior and layout hopefully feels different to our more clinical competitors. 

📣We offer genuine deals for students, rather than binding them into an annual contract which means getting a “discount” actually involves paying for months they may not be there. Students at all levels pay £12 a month no matter what (with £3 week passes available) 

📣We listen to our members! You can always message me or see me in person - I also teach two classes a week so you can easily grab me then! 

📣 We don’t cut classes ruthlessly. If numbers are low but a class has a small, loyal following and positive feedback we see that as just as important. We also understand how frustrating it is to be constantly on waiting lists, so we have double billed the classes that consistently had long waiting lists. 

📣We pride ourselves on variety and have never wanted to just be about “conventional” fitness. Where some of our competitors have very repetitive timetables, our 72 classes a week includes all of the following - 

🔥  Our “in house” studio classes- Bodyweight Tabata  HIIT x2, HIIT Mix (a mashup of aerobic and strength conditioning) x2 and a weekly Total Body Conditioning 

🚴‍♀️ 10 classes in our spin studio a week  - 5 freestyle group cycle and 5 Les Mills RPM 

💃 A wide selection of  freestyle from instructors who also happen to be talented choreographers - as well as Freestyle Dance Aerobics twice a week and Zumba four times a week, we also offer more niche weekly freestyle sessions in Contemporary, Street , Ballet and Pole. 

🎵 Due to their huge popularity and availability of inspirational instructors, we offer 29 Les Mills choreographed classes a week - BodyPump x5, BodyCombat x5, BodyAttack x5, BodyBalance x5 , RPM x5, Barre x2 and Sh’bam x2. 

🧘‍♀️We believe holistic classes should be central to any good clubs timetable, and offer 28 holistic  classes  week in our dedicated shala room. Among these are five BodyBalance classes a week, two Yogalates and seven Pilates (from general and classical to Fitness and Stability). We are also delighted to say we offer a total of 15 traditional yoga classes per week  ( Hatha x4, vinyasa x7, yin x2 and weekly sessions in Iyengar and Kundalini)
